Hi It’s Me Ata – The Artist Who Became a Hair Alchemist

Part mad scientist, part plant whisperer, full-time believer that nature does it best.

Long before I ever picked up a pair of shears, I was that kid covered in mud, making “perfumes” from crushed petals and insisting dandelions were clearly superior to roses. (Still stand by that.) My art studio always smelled suspiciously like a herbalist’s shop because I couldn’t resist turning pigments into potions.

Then cosmetology school happened.

The Great Chemical Awakening:
After years of watching clients (and my own hands and body) react to salon chemicals with the enthusiasm of a cat in a bathtub, I had an epiphany: What if we stopped fighting our hair and skin and started working with them instead? Cue the dramatic return to my roots—literally.

Why You’ll Love My Approach:

  • I test every wild idea on myself first (yes, my hair and body has had the pleasure of experiencing every one of my creations)
  • Believe “good hair days” should include naps and messy buns
  • Will never suggest a 12-step routine (unless step 7 is “eat the avocado instead”)

When Not Brewing Potions:
You’ll find me talking to plants (they’re great listeners), creating paintings that speak to my soul, spending time with my family trying to convince them that manuka honey, black seed oil and oregano oil can fix everything.

Let’s Get Real About Nature, Health and Beauty:
I share unfiltered experiments and hard-won lessons at @Wellsweetie – where we celebrate frizz, flaws, and the magic of doing less with better ingredients.

“Natural beauty isn’t about perfection—it’s about conversation. The kind where your freckles tell stories of sunny adventures, your curls whisper ancestral wisdom, and your skin glows with the quiet confidence of being truly known by earth’s remedies.”
